Richbar Nursery is proud of the
accomplishments made over the years. We recognize that employees are our
biggest asset and continually encourage them to upgrade their
horticultural knowledge. Several of our employees are currently in
training, fertilizing their horticultural minds. We would like you to

BARENDINA WIERSMA (1957) Co-founder.
Grew up on a farm in Holland, attended Horticultural College
prior to coming to Canada in 1948. Expanded her horticultural
studies through Guelph University with such courses as Garden
Centre Operation & Landscape Design. Shareholder in
retirement.

PETER JOSEPHY (1957) Co-founder.
Attended Agricultural College in Holland. Farming background.
Immigrated to Canada in 1948. Founded the first Garden Club in
Quesnel during the 1960’s and was president for a number of
years. Still actively involved with the Nursery.

WALTER JOSEPHY (1968) Co-owner.
Over 30 years experience landscaping. In charge of mechanics
& machinery. Co-manages the landscaping and keeps all the
machinery running.

ANNE JOSEPHY (1974) Co-owner.
Manages the greenhouse and Garden Centre. Has been growing the
Cariboo’s finest bedding plants, and creating satisfied
customers for over twenty years.

ROY JOSEPHY ((1978) Co-owner.
Graduated from BCIT Diploma of Horticulture Program in 1982. Gold
Seal Certified by the Canadian Construction Association for
Project Management Landscaping. Co-manages the nursery and
landscaping portions of the business.

JEAN ATKINSON (1985) Garden
Centre & Landscape Design. 1982 Graduate of the BCIT
Diploma in Horticulture. Richbar Nursery’s Perennial
specialist. Extensive landscape design and Garden
Centre experience.

Extensive landscaping experience. In charge of residential &
commercial maintenance contracts.
